Abbey School, St. Marychurch, Torquay TQ1 4PR
Details:
This event, run by Tim Onions in conjunction with Abbey Adventures holiday club in Abbey School Torquay, will mean your child is supervised and looked after by the staff for the day and unlike most other chess events it will not be possible for parents to stay. During the day there will be timetabled activities, and we expect to include a chance for swimming in the school’s lovely heated indoor pool for those who would like, with a qualified lifeguard present as well as supervisory staff. Lunch will be provided. We will conclude the day with some crazy chess.
SECTIONS Under 9 (years 3 and 4) Under 11 (years 5 and 6) Under 12 (Year 7) Please note age group based on age at 1st September 2018. Sections may be amalgamated if insufficient entries are received.

PRIZES - these will be awarded to the first three places in each section. Other prizes will be awarded according to the size of the entry. Certificates will be awarded to all players.
PLAY will commence at 9.30am. Children will be supervised from 9am, and ideally need to arrive by 9.15am. The day will finish at 4pm with the prize giving; parents are welcome to arrive from 3.45pm if they wish to come to this. There will be supervised play in the school’s playground between games (weather permitting). Clocks will be used.
LOCATION The school is located next to the model village in the heart of St. Marychurch (use the council car park next to the school).
